How to restore and take back up Sage Pro Company

In this blog we will see that how restore and take back up Sage Pro Company data.

Sage Pro having two types of back end:

  1. VFP: Having DBF files.
  2. SQL: Having ‘PROSYS’, ‘PROTEMP’ and company database.

When Sage Pro backend is VFP then follow the below mentioned steps to restore the company:

  • Open Sage Pro installation directory of Sage Pro which you want to restore in your System.
  • Find the path for Sage Pro Company i.e. from which directory Sage Pro ERP open. Open sage Pro folderà go to ‘syspath.dbf’.
  • Copy that Sage Pro folder into D:Drive or other driver.
  • Create new directory to open Sage Pro company: Go to Runà type ‘subst S: D:’ àOK ( Example: Here we create ‘S:’ drive.

  • Go to S: driveàclient provided Sage pro folderàopen ‘sbtw’ file.
  • Below Sage Pro ERP screen will open.
  • Type user ID and Passwordà OKà Sage Pro ERP will login and below home screen will appear
  • When backend of Sage Pro ERP is SQL then follow the below mentioned steps before startingWhen backend of Sage Pro ERP is SQL then follow the below mentioned steps before starting migration:
    1. Go to MSSQL àRestored client provided three SQL databases ‘PROSYS’, ‘PROTEMP’ and back up of company databases into MSSQL
    2. Right click on database (PROSYS)à PropertiesàFileà Create databases owner as ‘AIADMN’ for all three databases.
      1. To find the location path for opening the Sage Pro ERP company, type the below query in ‘PROSYS’ database. “select * from sycpath”
      2. Then follow the same steps from step 1 to step 6 which are mentioned for VFP format.

      Now we will discuss that how to take back up sage Pro company:

      If Sage Pro Back end is VFP then follow the below path:

      • Go to Sage Pro installation directory. (Say for example: you have your Sage Pro system installed at “C:Pro” then go that path)
      • You need to select Pro folder and zip it to any other location.

      If Sage Pro back end is SQL :

      • Go to Sage Pro installation directory. (Say for example: you have your Sage Pro system installed at “C:Pro” then go that path)

      You need to select Pro folder and

      • You need to select Pro folder and zip it to any other location.
      • Go to the SQL management and take backup of company file
      • Take back up of Pro System file.
      • Take back up of Pro temp file.

      In this way we restore and take back of Sage Pro company.
