Manufacturing Order – Quantity On Hand in detail level materials tab

Manufacturing Order is used to request for a new item or product to be assembled or processed in the Production Area. Included here is information on its components and operation and can be defined with its Child MO, subcontractor, Purchase order, SO Details and Co-product. There are much more information about the specific item such as Location of the particular detail level component item from which we are getting the respective qty of the item.

The Manufacturing Order transaction window allows system user to create, edit and closeout manufacturing orders. The BOM maintenance merely determines the standard on how to produce a certain product. It is during the MO entry transaction wherein the BOM previously maintained are put into use to produce a specific quantity of a product in a specific production area to meet a specific deadline.

We have customized this screen to check the quantity remaining for the particular location of the particular item used in MO Entry.

Navigate the M/F Order Entry Screen: Manufacturing–> M/F Transaction–> Manufacturing Order. (Please refer below screen for MO Entry)

As you can see from the above screenshot we have customized MO Entry Standard Screen & added new Qty On Hand Column in the detail level of MO Entry Screen.

As when you will open the MO Screen, in Material tab you can see qty per item & required qty as per the BOM created against the specific MO. This Qty on hand location field helps user to check the qty, inventory or stock remaining for the location selected in the particular MO & create MO entries as per the same.

The main purpose of this customization is to keep the user aware about the qty or stock remaining in the location for the particular component item of the particular MO Entry in Sage 300 ERP.
